Mandate

The mandate of the Counsellor shall be

to review the corporate social responsibility practices of Canadian extractive sector companies operating outside Canada; and
to advise stakeholders on the implementation of the performance guidelines.

Appointment Provisions

Public Service Employment Act

The Counsellor shall be appointed by the Governor in Council, for a term of up to three years, which term may be renewed, and may only be removed for cause by the Governor in Council.
